The problem with learning Japanese is that there's little consensus on how to learn, there's no single stand-out resource that you can use and make balanced headway in every area, and different styles seem to work for different people. I don't claim to be an expert in Japanese pedagogy by any means, but I thought that I'd list what's been helpful for me so far, in rough order of decreasing usefulness:
Random thoughts about topics, including lucha libre, video games, language, music, and probably some other things.

5 resources I'm using to learn Japanese
As you may know, ahead of my trip to Japan in Japan, and despite assurances that I would be able to navigate Tokyo without knowing much Japanese, I decided to devote most of my free time to learning as much Japanese as I could. I have had a few different reasons for wanting to learn Japanese over the years (playing untranslated video games, actually understanding puroresu commentary beyond move names borrowed from other languages), but this trip was the impetus for me to actually bite the bullet and start learning.
